It saddens me to announce that Beyonce will NOT be heading to New Zealand for her ultra spectacular I Am....TOUR!!
So, 3 of the most anticipated albums of 2008 were released in these past weeks and listening to them, I know why they were left until the end of the year! As they say, save the best till last right! Where should I start?
Circus: Britney Spears
Despite her fall from grace earlier this year, Brit's life has without a doubt
turned around! Much speculation has circled around the album and can she over
power her 2007 smash album Blackout. With catchy tunes, Womanizer, Kill
The Lights, Shattered Glass, Mmm Papa ,Mannequin and many others will be party
favorites among peers and party goers of all ages. Circus goes beyond
boundaries that artists of the 21st Century only dare of crossing. There are
some slower jamz that are tearful in the album too "Out From Under and
"My Baby" are perfect and show off her calm and vocally she sounds
perfect. Bonus tracks even provide us with possible chart topping hits
too. My favorite being "Amnesia" has a 60's kind of melody
quite possibly sampling The Marvelettes Motown classic "Mr.
Postman" and might even be a summer jam. Providing us with up-tempo
beats the next installment of Britney's career is yet another number album and
more number one singles. Proving to the world and hater that it doesn't
matter how hard you fall it's easier to pick yourself. This is the
perfect album for a guaranteed comeback and the funny thing is, this is only
the beginning of the Britney era. “Rumor has it she has already penned in her
diary a 2009 tour.”
808s & Heartbreak
In terms of music, Kanye has officially earned my respect as a recording
artist. 808s and Heartbreak starts off with a just over 6 minute track named
"Say You Will" a slower robo tone song that has and easy flowing
tempo.” Welcome To Heartbreak" provides us with an Lincoln Park "Encore" feel that
mixes with the drums of the Survivor theme song creating a breezy feel to your
Sunday afternoon. His released singles "Heartless" and
"Love Lockdown" provide his fans with very catchy hooks "how
could you be so HEARTLESS" and "Lo-LOVE LOCKDOWN" will certainly
get a lot of airplay during the summer. Young Jeezy features in the album on a
some what boring track "Amazing". "Paranoid" should be a club
fave this season creating a Beatstreet bopping feel for dancers. "Robocop" is the
climax of the album combining Hip-Hop with a small hint of pop-rock music that
reminds me of a more modern and hypo R&B techno with violin to add a bit
more oomph to the Flashdance type vibe. "Bad News, See You My
Knightmares and Coldest Winters" slow up the album and are his best tracks
ever. Kanye has upped his artistry. Kanye ends this masterpiece with a live version
of song, "Pinnochio Story" which seems like his inner man expressing
his feeling about being on TV, a boy and how people see him and how he wants to
be a "real boy" on a personal level, a touching song for sensitive
souls. This album should guarantee him a '09 Grammy. At first hear
you might think "eww this whole robo voice thing won't work" but like
any other artist Kanye used this type of style to his advantage gaining him a
place in my "TOP 5 ALBUMS THAT YOU MUST LISTEN TO IN 2008".
I Am.....Sasha Fierce
Well it's her 3rd album as a solo artist and Beyonce is out to share her
"other" self, Sasha Fierce.
Beyonce begins the two disc album with "I Am" which is a classic
R&B and Soul type disk producing us with major N.Z hit "If I Were A
Boy". B also remakes the choral classic, Ave Maria, sounding her
deep thoughts on a man being her "first" and her "last”. Smash
Into You and That's Why Your Beautiful gives fans a sense of inner peace which
are soul touching and seem almost indie rockish meets Coldplay and collided
head first with R&B making a simple songs and classy beats.
"Broken-Hearted Girl" and "Satellites" are elegant pending
a Barbra Streisand feel showing vulnerability at the same time keeping poise to
her music.
Beyonce's alter ego "SASHA FIERCE" makes her mainstream debut
with major club hit "Single Ladies(Put A Ring On It)" making us have
an inner beat and an unstoppable two step. Like Irreplaceable’s "To the
left, to the left" it will extremely hard to get the "Put a ring on
it "and "woh oh oh" in the summer. "Radio"
is a semi techno track which will be perfect for a pool party or a beach party.
"Video Phone" and "Diva" incorporates B's inner gangster
saying "a diva is a female version of a hustler" which has a "A
Millie" bass feel. If you liked that song you will definitely like Diva.
"Sweet Dreams”,” Hello" and "Scared Of Lonely" are ballads
with bass which mix very well in this genre creating almost a new form of
sound, Rhythm and Hip Hop maybe? Ego has to be maybe my favorite song in
which Knowles uses R&B and mixes it with trumpet and low key piano. Beyonce's
new album will deliver undefinable sounds for every season and will blow your
egos away. There's a rebel in all of us.
If you don't already have these albums, download them now or go to the nearest C.D store and hook yourself up! You won't be disappointed peeps!
Hello fellow peeps!
Last night was The American Music Awards and apart from Chirs BREEZY and Kanye dominating the award show the artists who performed as well hit an all time, as Lil Jon would say "YAY-AH"
Performances were of high standed and variety for both tween and muture audiences!
Performers included:
Kanye West
PCD
Rihanna
NKOTB
Sasha Fierce
and the F-A-B Leona Lewis sung her smash his "Better In Time"
Why is America trying to steal Leona from the Brits?
There was way more performers but there's no point!!!!!!!!!!! I'm pretty sure everybody is sick of THE JONAS BROTHERS!Until Next Time
Au Revoir!
