Today I got to to go the Wellington Japanese Festival with (R-L) Phaedra, Hayche, Soph and Daphne. It was really good, it was awesome to see different faces and races there. But the biggest LOL that came was when WE rocked up in street clothes and everyone was in corporate suits and formal gears. OUR BAD!! Gosh we can't help it if we're cool..........jokes. We went to watch Hayche's Japanese break dancing mates from Australia. They were off the hook: did a set to one of Timbaland's jams.
Tonight I went and jammed with my homies Daphne and Phaedra and met one of Seek's girls, Stevie all the way from from Masterton, DEDICATION OF THIS WOMAN!haha. It was awesome as, Stevie taught a set by Legacy's very own, Pat Godinet to a D'Angelo slow tune which was off the shoes fantastic. And then spent the last hour freestyling, creating sets and well, TAKING PHOTOS OF OURSELVES! What a fun night it was.
We finished at around 12 in the A.M.
Until Nex TIME PEOPLES,
LATER DAYS!
Check this out yall, tonight the Saint Cath's Dance was meant to be on but get this, IT WAS CANCELED. Pousquoi? Parce que, the SWINE FLU . We were all pissed off but thank the lord for ELLA (Last photo down to the right)! She invited all us peeps to her crib and let us party is out there. THANKS ELLA! xx
Before Honey,You Got Servedm, the Step Up sequels and all dem other heffer dance movies, there were movies like 'BEAKIN' and 'BEAT STREET' where it was all about the your originality and passion to dance. These days it about the way you look and the rep you got before the talent and passion. Lets reflect on what made hip hop, rap,r&b, POP,LOCKING,DROPPING,HIP HOPPING and BOGALOOING was in the day when dance was ALL of THAT and MORE!
=Luvia93 Sends us this:
On the 9th of April 09 over seventy hip hop dance crews headed up to Manukau, Auckland to compete in the NZ National Hip Hop Champs to qualify for The World Hip Hop Championships in Las Vegas July 09. The competition was split into three grades, junior (12&under), varsity (13-18) and adult (18+). Thursday was the heats and NZ'S greatest hip hop talent was showcased with the top 6 in juniors and adults and the top 8 in varsity heading onto fridays finals.
The finals were AMAZING, and all of the crews stepped up there game although some technical problems occurred. ReQuest (all-girl) dance crew's sound turned off in the middle of their dance! With a second try, these inspiring girls, fully talented went on to place 2ND in NZ for varsity and qualify for LAS VEGAS WORLDS. 2.0 (all-boys) crew won the Varsity section and Fearless went from 6th in heats to grab the bronze and also qualify.
The varsity section definitely proved the hardest with 17 crews whilst adults had only 6 crews. TMC took out the adult section, with Sweet&Sour 2ND and Welly's own Legacy coming in at third place.
HUGGGEEE props to all the qualifying crews and to all of NZ'S competing dance crews. AMAZING talent and awesome spirit.

For those who don't know AUTHENTIC is a Wellington based dance crew and boy.
Amazingly talented are they taking the city by storm! A few weeks back they held a showcase in Porirua featuring some of Wellington's most talented youger and older people. Unfortunately I was unable to attend but judging by these videos, it was 'THE' showcase of '08!
With a name like AUTHENTIC how can you mistake the individuality and uniqueness of such crew!
Don't miss a chance and beat when it comes to watching these young adults, they'll blow the sneakers right off you!
Make sure to catch them in '09.
They are 'coming of age' so they'll be around for A LONG TIME!!!
Until Next Time,
Au Revoir!
Come on I'm not the most coolest of dancers but I 2 stepped and walked it out enough to have a good time. At times the 'BLACK' music dragged on like a broken record but hey her music music especially when the night is still young.
With every social event there is always one person who takes it to the next level and surprise surprise for me ladies and gents it was the 'TRIO' belonging in different cliques, Moana,Bessa and Anna N surprised my 'sources' with bootylicious moves even Rihanna would be begging for.
But with every up comes a down, is it that hard to get some A/C up in that place? If it has iMacs than why doesn't it have Air conditioning?
Oh well we'll have to wait and see if SCC gets any whats the adjective.......RICHER!
Till next time,
Au revoir!
